List shows which schools requested hand-held metal detectors from the state

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — We are now getting a look at just how many metal detectors, schools across Indiana requested from the state.

About a month ago, Governor Holcomb announced the program.

It provided one metal detector wand for every 250 students at a school.

Districts were given the option to request the metal detectors for free.

Now the state has put out a list of those requests.

For example:

  • Hamilton Southeastern: 91
  • Noblesville: 36
  • Indianapolis Public Schools: 50
  • Greenwood: 16
  • Kokomo: 24

You can check how many your district requested by clicking here and downloading the document.

Deliveries of the metal detectors are expected to begin later this month.

More deliveries will be made later based on requests.
