TITUSVILLE, N.J. (WTHR) — A pharmaceutical company has issued a nationwide recall for birth control tablets because the packs do not include the appropriate instructions for their dispensers.

One lot of ORTHO-NOVUM 1/35 and two lots of ORTHO-NOVUM 7/7/7 are included in the recall. The tablets come in a specific Veridate dispenser, and the affected lots could cause the user to take the pills in an incorrect order, leading to unexpected bleeding or unintended pregnancy.

The products itself is still safe if used in the dispenser properly. Users are meant to take 21 active pills, followed by one week of pills without hormones.

The recall only affects the United States.
