NEW YORK CITY (WTHR) - A Brooklyn artist is getting mixed reviews for his latest installation - small busts of President Donald Trump, encouraging viewers to relieve themselves.

Artist Phil Gable set up the statues with yellow signs that read "Pee On Me" across Brooklyn. The exhibit is presented by Porcupine Armadillo, a brand content company for which Gable serves as creative director.

"I've always loved political humor," Gable told NBC New York, adding that, particularly, with the current administration "people need some good laughs just to make it through the day."

He said much of the response he's received has been supportive, including a woman and her children who thanked him for the artwork, but he's also heard complaints from both sides of the political aisle.

He said his goal is to give viewers "a little moment of levity" in the current political climate.

"If I can give them a laugh and a little break from their day, that's great," he said. "And if this gets anyone at any point in the political spectrum to contemplate the concept of decency at a time when this administration is being so hostile to so many groups, that's good, too."
