INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — Project Safe Neighborhoods 2.0 has now led to 180 people being prosecuted in federal court.

United States Attorney Josh Minkler released a statement saying this shows the determination to target the district’s most violent, habitual gun-toting felons.

After announcing the current results, the U.S. attorney renewed his commitment to Project Safe Neighborhoods 2.0.

The project includes a partnership with the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, Marion County Sheriff’s Department, Evansville Police Department, and the Indiana State Police.

Recently, the Federal Bureau of Investigation created a new group including one special agent and three task force officers to assist.
